William Kurtz, MD

Dr. Kurtz is a board certified orthopedic surgeon in Nashville, TN who specializes in the primary and revision joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee joints, and is an expert on achieving proper knee alignment. Dr. Kurtz is the Chief of Orthopedics at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Society of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Society for Arthritic Joint Surgery, Mid-America Orthopedic Association, and the Vanderbilt Orthopedic Society.
Dr. Kurtz is a graduate of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas with Alpha Omega Alpha honors distinction. He then completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, followed by a subspecialty fellowship in adult reconstructive joint surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. In addition, he holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rice University.
